Newly elected City Council members and City Mayor took their oaths of office on January 6th.  The City Council members now include Sharri Oyler, Kristie Bowcutt, Brent Jex, Beau Lewis, and Blair Westergard. Our new Mayor is now Bret Rohde.

As Mayor, Bret pledges to empower citizens through regular town halls and a “Tremonton Connect” digital platform, ensuring Tremonton voices shape city policies.  Bret has lived in Tremonton for 40 years and has been a City Council member since 2014, bringing an understanding of our community’s heart, as well as an expansive knowledge of the city government.

Sharri Oyler has lived in Tremonton with her family for 35 years and recently retired as Treasurer for Tremonton City; a position she held for 32 years.  She feels her experience would be a great asset to the Mayor, the Council, city employees, and residents with an in-depth understanding of how the city works.

Kristie Bowcutt has also lived in Tremonton for 35 years.  She is an advocate for responsible growth, economic development and collaborative decision making that reflects the values of Tremonton residents.  “This is your city,” she says.  “Let’s make a difference–together.”

Brent Jex has been a police officer for 28 years and knows firsthand the critical task of what it takes to keep our public safe.  Transparency is very important to Brent.  He says that you may not agree with everything he says or does, but he will never hide or lie about anything.

Beau Lewis is a small business owner and has vast experience assisting teams make sense of financial numbers, improve processes, and deliver results.  He will bring this same approach to public service: preparation, respectful dialogue, and decisions driven by data and long-term impact. “I’m accessible, I return calls, and I listen.  If you have perspective to share, I welcome it–and look forward to working together.”

Blair Westergard, now the veteran member of this council, has served as a City Council member since January of 2024.  His 41 years of experience with Tremonton Fire Department is a great asset to our Council and our community.

Make sure to congratulate each of them when you see them around town!
