Mayor’s Giant Pumpkin Challenge

Attention all young gardeners interested in growing the biggest, most ginormous pumpkin ever!

Seeds will be given out on Saturday, May 7th from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Farmers Market at Midland Square in Tremonton. We will be in the City’s booth. Please check below for rules.
There is no charge for the seeds. (Four seeds per youth – should be enough for one or two hills) .

Kathy and I would like to sponsor the first ever “Mayor’s Giant Pumpkin Challenge”. The contest is open to all youth from Tremonton or surrounding communities who are 18 years old or younger. Of course, parents are encouraged to pitch in. All you need is a garden spot, tender loving care and a desire to have some fun! These pumpkins can grow up to 300 lbs. – maybe LARGER.

The “Mayor’s Giant Pumpkin Challenge” contest will be held in October, at Midland Square in Tremonton where the pumpkins will be brought to the Square, measured and weighed.  Youth will be recognized for their efforts. And of course, there will be prizes.

Kathy and I will provide the seeds free of charge to any youth from Tremonton or surrounding communities wanting to participate. As the season progresses, we will provide instructions on how to grow the pumpkins and are excited to watch your pumpkins grow.

Spring Clean Up Time

Its time for some spring cleaning around your house and property and Tremonton city is here to help.  Dumpsters will be out from May 4th through May 6th around town for Tremonton Residents Only.  Once dumpsters are full they will be removed.  Please take leaves and green waste to the Treatment Plant and branches and tree limbs up to 12″ to the Compost Processing Facility at 8700 W. 1200 S.

Outstanding Community Departments

Each year, the Utah Recreation and Parks Association recognizes a department in the state that encourages and recognizes excellence in the promotion and provision of facilities and/or programs in the field of parks and/or recreation. The 2022 Outstanding Parks and Recreation Department was Tremonton City Parks and Recreation.

The Tremonton City Library was recognized by the Utah State Library Division for their exemplary service to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Library was recognized for their efforts in adapting library services to remain available during the shutdown.

We are so proud of our Community Services Departments. We would like to thank all of the staff members who work so hard to provide a wonderful community to live in.
