Sloths are mysterious creatures who are notoriously slow. By the same token that these tree-dwelling mammals take a little bit longer to get to their destination, The Slothathon is a slower paced version of a traditional Ironman Triathlon. The Ironman Triathlon consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bicycle ride and a marathon run of 26.2 miles, where only the elite of the elite finish with in the time frame of 17 hours. Tremonton Recreation brings you the Lazyman Slothathon. Where instead of the 17 hour time limit to complete the Ironman, we are giving you a whole month to complete those same distances. Believe me, there is nothing lazy about it.

The purpose of this event is to help people of all skill levels develop a healthy active lifestyle in a fun, customizable, personal, and entertaining way. From the couch potato who wants to not break into a sweat when they have to reach for the remote, to the avid exerciser who is building up and training for a true triathlon, the goal of this event is to get you moving, and, most of all, to have fun doing it!

Print out the Sprint Sloth Tracking Sheet if you want to test the waters, are a child wanting to participate, or are a senior wanting to change up your physical routine. All Slothathon members will be required to download and keep track of their miles with the Strava App. You can find the link to that app below.

Opening ceremonies will be at April 30th, 6pm at Jeanie Stevens park. Come and get weighed in, get your informational packet, and join us for a short mile run to kick off the month. Please join the Facebook page to keep up with updates.
