LIBRARY BOARD TRAINING

The Garland Library Board joined the Tremonton Library Board for an Open Meeting Training presented by Dustin Ericson, Tremonton City Attorney. Garland participants were Garland Mayor Linda Borne, Garland City Council Representative Donnie Howell, Garland Library Board Chairperson Kami Kaufman, Board Members Merinda Brighton, Wanda Bransen, Marci Cox, Alysse Monson, Deon Miller, and Breanna Parker.
TREMONTON LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
Chairperson Lisa Unsworth called the Tremonton Library Board Meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. The meeting was held at the Tremonton City Offices at 102 South Tremont Street, Tremonton, Utah. Those in attendance were Library Director Kim Griffiths, Chairperson Lisa Unsworth, Vice Chairperson Becca Ashby, Secretary Alysia Chapman, Board Member Julie Beagley, Board Member Rick Jeppesen, Librarian-Secretary Rebecca Jeppesen, and Lead Librarian Kori Williams.
1. Welcome
Chairperson Unsworth opened the meeting.
2. Approval of Agenda
Nobody had any questions, so the agenda was unanimously approved.
3. Approval of Minutes from August 17, 2022
Nobody had any corrections, so the agenda was unanimously approved.
4. Public comments: This is an opportunity to address the Library Board regarding your concerns or ideas. Please limit your comments to three minutes.
There were no public comments.
5. New Business
a. Discuss and Vote on 2023 Library Board Meeting Schedule
Motion by Board Secretary Chapman to approve the 2023 Tremonton Library Board Schedule of January 25, April 19, August 16, and October 18. Board Member Beagley seconded the motion. Vote: Chairperson Unsworth – aye, Vice Chairperson Ashby – aye, Secretary Chapman – aye, Board Member Beagley – aye, Board Member Jeppesen – aye. The motion carried.
6. Unfinished Business
a. Discuss Internet Usage Policy
The Tremonton Library Board discussed the Internet Usage Policy. Director Griffiths will also have the Tremonton City’s attorney review it.
b. Discuss Bear River Valley Consortium Overdue Policy
The library board will discuss the Bear River Valley Consortium Overdue Policy with the Garland Library Board at our meeting in January 2023.
7. Board Reports
a. Library Director’s Report
The Tremonton Library has received the “Quality Library” award again this year.
In September, 11 teens participated in a Water and Pizza Party, 25 adults enjoyed a Murder Mystery Dinner, and 7 individuals attended a Writing Workshop with Heather Frost and Rebecca McKinnon. In October, 170 individuals attended the Observe the Moon Night in the Park, which was partnered with the Garland Library.

h. Teen Costume Party on October 22 @ 5-6 p.m.
i. Cookie Decorating for Families on October 24 @ 6 p.m.
j. Christmas Party on December 3 @ Midland Square

Nobody had any other things to discuss, so the meeting was unanimously adjourned.
