Vice Chairperson Aguilar called the Tremonton Library Board Meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. The meeting was held at the Tremonton City Offices at 102 South Tremont Street, Tremonton, Utah. Those in attendance were Library Director Kim Griffiths, Chairperson Lisa Unsworth, Vice Chairperson Becca Ashby, Secretary Alysia Chapman, Board Member Moroni Aguilar, Board Member Julie Beagley, Board Member Rick Jeppesen, Board Member Annette Macfarlane, Board Member Mercedes Stacey, Librarian-Secretary Rebecca Jeppesen, Lead Librarian Kori Williams, and Assistant Librarian Isabella Beagley.
1. Welcome
Vice Chairperson Aguilar opened the meeting.
2. Approval of Agenda
Nobody had any questions, so the agenda was unanimously approved.
3. Approval of Minutes from April 20, 2022
Nobody had any corrections, so the agenda was unanimously approved.
4. Public comments: This is an opportunity to address the Library Board regarding your concerns or ideas. Please limit your comments to three minutes.
There were no public comments.
5. New Business
a. Ratify New Assistant Librarians
Motion by Board Member Macfarlane to ratify Eleni Roberts as a new assistant librarian. Secretary Chapman seconded the motion. Vote: Vice Chairperson Aguilar – aye, Secretary Chapman – aye, Board Member Ashby – aye, Board Member Beagley – aye, Board Member Jeppesen – aye, Board Member Macfarlane – aye, Board Member Stacey – aye, Board Member Unsworth – aye. The motion carried.
Motion by Board Member Ashby to ratify Isabella Beagley as a new assistant librarian. Board Member Jeppesen seconded the motion. Vote: Vice Chairperson Aguilar – aye, Secretary Chapman – aye, Board Member Ashby – aye, Board Member Beagley – aye, Board Member Jeppesen – aye, Board Member Macfarlane – aye, Board Member Stacey – aye, Board Member Unsworth – aye. The motion carried.
Motion by Secretary Chapman to ratify Bret Cunningham as a new assistant librarian. Board Member Unsworth seconded the motion. Vote: Vice Chairperson Aguilar – aye, Secretary Chapman – aye, Board Member Ashby – aye, Board Member Beagley – aye, Board Member Jeppesen – aye, Board Member Macfarlane – aye, Board Member Stacey – aye, Board Member Unsworth – aye. The motion carried.
6. Unfinished Business
a. Nominate and Vote on Library Board Positions
Motion by Board Member Macfarlane to Nominate Lisa Unsworth as Library Board Chairperson. Board Member Ashby seconded the motion. Vote: Vice Chairperson Aguilar – aye, Secretary Chapman – aye, Board Member Ashby – aye, Board Member Beagley – aye, Board Member Jeppesen – aye, Board Member Macfarlane – aye, Board Member Stacey – aye, Board Member Unsworth – aye. The motion carried.
Motion by Board Member Macfarlane to Nominate Becca Ashby as Library Board Vice Chairperson. Board Member Unsworth seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Motion by Secretary Chapman to Approve Lisa Unsworth as Library Board Chairperson. Board Member Macfarlane seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Motion by Board Member Macfarlane to Approve Becca Ashby as Library Board Vice Chairperson. Chairperson Unsworth seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Motion by Board Member Jeppesen to Approve Alysia Chapman as Library Board Secretary. Board Member Macfarlane seconded the motion. Vote: Chairperson Unsworth – aye, Vice Chairperson Ashby – aye Secretary Chapman – aye, Board Member Aguilar – aye, Board Member Beagley – aye, Board Member Jeppesen – aye, Board Member Macfarlane – aye, Board Member Stacey – aye. The motion carried.
b. Discuss Bear River Valley Consortium Overdue Policy
Motion by Secretary Chapman to postpone discussion of the Bear River Valley Consortium Overdue Policy until meeting with the Garland Library Board. Chairperson Unsworth seconded the motion. Vote: Chairperson Unsworth – aye, Vice Chairperson Ashby – aye Secretary Chapman – aye, Board Member Aguilar – aye, Board Member Beagley – aye, Board Member Jeppesen – aye, Board Member Macfarlane – aye, Board Member Stacey – aye. The motion carried.
c. Discuss Internet Usage Circulation Policy
The library board will continue to discuss the Internet Usage Circulation Policy at their next board meeting.
7. Board Reports
a. Library Director’s Report
In May, 20 children participated in Book Week, 30 children completed a Take and Make bee craft, 125 children found flowers hidden around the library, and 124 individuals participated in Mayor Holmgren’s Plant a Pumpkin Seed Challenge.
In June, 26 children participated in the Coding Club, 23 children participated in the Art Club, 50 children completed a Take and Make rainbow fish craft, and 103 children found camping images hidden around the library. Participants of the summer reading program included 239 children, 68 teens, and 83 adults.
In July, 25 teens attended a Harry Potter Murder Mystery, 75 individuals watched “Hook” in the park, 70 individuals watched “Moana” in the park, 46 people attended Mayor Holmgren’s picnic and history activity, 50 children completed Take and Make pirate hats, 125 children participated at the Tremonton Hay Days craft booth, 101 children found firework images hidden around the library, and 150 children attended a Harry Potter Party.
In August, 20 individuals participated in the Harmony Music Club, 100 people attended the Rocky Mountain Puppet Show, and 13 individuals participated in the Mayor’s Challenge Paint Night.

Nobody had any other things to discuss, so the meeting was unanimously adjourned.
