Sergeant Sorensen, Officer Estrada, Deputy Allred, and K9 Azula exemplify the highest ideals of public safety and law enforcement, responding with bravery in the face of grave danger.  The families, loved ones, and colleagues of these heroes carry the deep sorrow of their sacrifice, but also the enduring legacy of their service, commitment, and love for the community they protected.  This tragedy arose from the terrible reality of domestic violence, a crisis that devastates lives, tears families apart, and far too often places victims and first responders at risk.  There is an urgent need to raise awareness of domestic violence, provide support to survivors, and work tirelessly with law enforcement and community partners to prevent future tragedies.  Mayor Holmgren and Tremonton City Council proclaimed at the City Council Meeting on September 16, 2025, that

  • Sergeant Lee Sorensen, Officer Eric Estrada, Deputy Mike Allred, and K9 Azula are recognized, honored, and remembered for their bravery and sacrifice in the line of duty.
  • That the City of Tremonton extends its deepest condolences and unwavering support to their families, fellow officers, and all who grieve their loss.
  • That the City of Tremonton reaffirms its commitment to combating domestic violence by supporting survivors, raising awareness, and working in unity to build a safer community for all.
