Is crime so bad in Tremonton that we need a big tax hike to get more police? Frankly police don’t make me feel safe, so this is a loose loose situation for me. I don’t mind paying higher tax, but it better be something more useful other than “we need more police on duty if an officer gets sick”. I say no, absolutely not. This is short sighted and only goes to punish anyone that is not hovering on the poverty line. The money can be better used to improve “green” infrastructures like bicycle lanes throughout the city, or public spaces near smaller shops so that downtown can be revitalized, even adding electric car charging stations so people will stop and explore town a bit while charging their vehicle. etc etc.
