A Note from the Mayor Vol.1 No.4
Folks,
I want to talk about the momentum we are building right now in Tremonton. If you look at what we’ve accomplished over the last couple of months, there is a lot to be proud of, and I’m incredibly encouraged by the path we’re taking.
Right now, we are diving into budget season. We’re going through the numbers with one clear target: eliminating waste and finding efficiencies. In our Strategic Plan, we set a hard goal to cut economic waste, and we are taking that seriously. It takes discipline, but it’s the right thing to do for this town.
To make that happen, City Hall has to operate as an open book. You might have noticed we’re making a real push to improve our communication, starting with the city website. The goal here isn’t just to report on what we did after the fact—it’s to put the information in front of you well before we make decisions. I’ll be the first to admit that our internal processes haven’t always been flawless. We are actively hunting down those weak spots and correcting them. Tremonton is the “City of Connections,” and that starts with how we listen and collaborate with you. We are always open to improving how we bring you into the fold.
That open-book mindset is exactly how we are tackling our new Comprehensive Master Plan. We’re gearing up for this right now, and it is going to define our city’s trajectory for decades. Our vision is to ensure Tremonton remains a safe, welcoming community where neighbors actually know each other. We want to honor our agricultural roots and preserve our small-town spirit, while still planning for smart, intentional growth.
It’s a big mountain to climb, and because it’s so critical, we are playing the long game. We aren’t going to rush it just to get it done. We are taking the time to gather your input and do it right, because this vision belongs to all of us.
We are already seeing real results across the city, and we are going to see even more. It takes time to build something that lasts, but I am confident in the direction we are headed.
United by connection.
Bret Rohde Mayor
