Water Rate Update from City Council

At the June 2 City Council meeting, Council approved a $5.00 monthly increase to the culinary water base rate, effective July 1, but will be posted on your August 1st bill.

After careful discussion, Council did not approve the proposed $1.00 wastewater treatment or $1.00 sewer collection increases. Those items have been postponed until a comprehensive utility rate study is completed.

Here’s what this means:
💧 Culinary Water (Base Rate): +$5.00/month (Approved)
⏸️ Wastewater Treatment: No increase at this time
⏸️ Sewer Collection: No increase at this time

The approved water rate adjustment is required to help the City meet the financial obligations of the bond used to build Tremonton’s secondary water system. The additional wastewater and sewer increases will be considered only after the upcoming utility rate study provides a complete picture of the system’s long-term needs.

As part of that process, the City will also review its Capital Facilities Plan and impact fee schedule, which have not been comprehensively updated since 2013.

We are committed to keeping our community informed and providing clear communication as we plan for Tremonton’s future. Thank you for staying connected and engaged with your City.
