Tremonton City has reached out to Landmark Design to create an Integrated Land Use Plan to guide the future development of the City. The general objective is to assimilate all the City’s General Plan elements into an integrated plan, culminating the previous planning efforts and assisting the City to become a highly desirable location to live, work and play. This integrated plan will address the following: land uses and economic development; mobility and land access correlation; highway commerce; alternative modes of transportation; Main Street district; and parks, open space, and trails.
Key Dates of Project:
August 2013: The SDAT Team members worked closely with local officials, community leaders, technical experts, non-profit organizations and citizens to study the community and its concerns. The team used its expertise to frame a wide range of recommendations, which were presented to the community in a public meeting (SDAT Final Report)
2014: Based on SDAT recommendations, the City compiled the inventory of its public art collection and created the current Mural Program. The program has gone on to win Utah’s Best of State award in Public art 8 times and the Best Of State Statue.
2017: Tremonton City gathered community input through multiple community meetings, open houses, main street advisory committee, Surveys and worked with Soren Simonsen to create a main street plan.
April 14, 2020: Tremonton City began work with Landmark Design to compile the City’s general Plan elements into an integrated plan. A project kickoff meeting was held with city staff and the planning team.
June 24, 2020: The initial meeting of the advisory committee was held to introduce the project to the committee and to discuss project scoping. The discussion focused on using online public engagement to facilitate feedback from residents during COVID-19.
August 27, 2020: The advisory committee held its second meeting to review the results of the public engagement and a preliminary existing conditions analysis. The discussion focused on guiding principles for the land use plan moving forward. Landmark Design will begin developing preliminary concepts to review with city staff.
March 25, 2021: Landmark Design has refined a land use concept and presented it to the advisory committee. The committee provided comment on the concept and recommended it move forward for further detailing as part of the Draft Plan.
July 6, 2021: An initial Draft Plan has been created and is under review from City staff.
February 8, 2022: After further review by City staff, the Draft Plan has been updated and presented to the Planning Commission in advance of the adoption process.
March 8, 2022: Landmark Design will present an overview of the Integrated Land Use Plan.
August 29, 2023: The final Integrated Land Use Plan was approved.
