The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the largest one-day food collection effort in the U.S., is on Saturday, May 10th. Every year, letter carriers across the country collect bags of non-perishable food donations to help stock local food banks, such as Tremonton’s Food Pantry, located at 180 South Tremont Street.

If you’re interested in participating, just place a bag of non-perishable food next to your mailbox before mail delivery on May 10 by 9 a.m. Your letter carrier and local volunteers will pick it up and make sure it gets to a local food pantry.  According to Utah Food Bank, the most critical needs at this time are canned meats, peanut butter, boxed meals, and canned fruits and vegetables. When making a donation please ensure that the non-perishable food items are in non-glass containers, such as cans, boxes, or plastic jars.
