Oleen enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1943. He was a 1st Lieutenant and Pilot of a B-24 Liberator Bomber stationed in Italy. He flew twenty-eight missions over enemy territory but was tragically killed when the transport plane he was riding in crashed in Northern Italy.
May 23, 1945, Wayne was hit in the chest with fragments from mortar shells. He died as he was being carried off the battlefield.
On November 22, 1944, Luther was going through a wooded area when a Japanese sniper from behind a tree shot him in the head.
He entered the army 1943 and was in the 328th Infanry Regiment 3rd U.S. Army. On January 4, 1945 he was killed by machine gun fire from an enemy tank during the ‘Battle of the Bulge’ in Nothum, Luxembourg Europe. He had received a Sharp Shooter Metal also Expert Rifleman and Infantry Badge.
He was part of the 601 1st Bomb Squadron 398th Bomb Group and was assigned to the B-17 Bomber ‘Contray Mary’. He was a 1st Engineer and top Turret Gunner on this fling fortress. It was on his 11th mission over Hamburg, Germany that he lost his life on June 18, 1944.
He was S/Sgt in the 3rd infantry Division, Company ‘A’. During operation “Mr. Black” in Italy trying to retake Spaccasassi Creek Area, he was reported missing in action. April 26, 1944.
Boiler Man 3rd Class Rose died in Mare Island, California while their ship was in dry dock for repars. He was painting with lead paint, which ate his lungs. He developed pneumonia and died in the hospital January 14, 1951.
T & C Adams was killed November 1, 1945 in Leige, Belgium with a vehicle roll over on the way to the front lines.
While serving with the 65th Armored Infantry Battalion in Belgium, Bastogue, Chenogne, George was getting out of a jeep and stepped onto a land mine. It took off his foot and shrapnel hit his head. He joined the navy June 8, 1942. He served overseas for two years on the battleship U.S.S. Tennessee then was transferred to another ship. He was killed off the coast of Okinawa on August 13, 1945.
